The Jorge Barradas Basic School belongs to the Benfica School Group in Lisbon, having started operating in 1982.

The intervention carried out aimed to address a set of architectural and constructional pathologies, both in the school’s internal and external spaces.

The objective of this improvement project was based on the creation of a unified element that defines itself as a single architectural object, foreseeing the construction of new structures that interconnect with the existing building.

The alignment of the new construction, defined to the east, incorporates the Kindergarten program, the atrium, the after-school activity rooms, and the library on the first floor. This structure functions as a new façade of the building facing Jorge Barradas Street, constructing the new face of the school.
