The Figueira da Foz District Hospital is moving forward with the construction of a new building to house the Day Hospital Unit and the Convalescence Unit.

The new Day Hospital Unit was designed from scratch, specifically for the type of patients it receives, allowing for an integrated response to all the unit’s activities. On the other hand, the Convalescence Unit, with 20 beds, will expand the services already existing at HDFF.

This unit allows for the continuation of care for patients in the post-surgical phase, in an area more focused on the complete recovery of patients’ functionalities. Furthermore, it allows for an increase in the number of patients admitted for conventional surgeries, since patient recovery in the surgical unit will be faster, as the final phase of recovery will be carried out in the Convalescence Unit.
