The building being worked on is part of a consolidated urban fabric in the city and has a roughly rectangular design, with the main façade facing the main street. The intervention involves rehabilitating and altering the existing main building, redesigning the exterior areas and rehabilitating the secondary building at the back of the plot. The proposal aims to rehabilitate the existing building with special attention to integrating it into its surroundings and ensuring harmony with the existing architectural and historical features. The proposed expansion of the interior spaces is based on dynamics as a response to the programme and the alteration of the building’s roof is based on a design that seeks to maintain relations with the surrounding built environment. The proposed alteration creates a space for valorising the building and its relationship with its surroundings, in a symbiosis that is understood to be intended in terms of the relationship between the urban space, the city and its inhabitants. The alteration is also based on the partial redesign of the balconies at the back, enhancing the building’s relationship with its surroundings and revalorising the existing patio on the plot as a leisure space. The rehabilitation of the building at the back also reinforces the recomposition of the relationship between the spaces.
